Strong storms battered the Czech Republic, keeping emergency services busy over the weekend, including a weather-induced panic at a music festival, BTA reported, Reuters reported.
A 57-year-old man was killed by a falling tree branch outside his house near the northern city of Nymburk on Saturday evening, an emergency services spokesman told CNN Prima News.
In Prague, a man was seriously injured and his companion slightly injured when a tree fell on them.
Panic broke out in the party tent at a music festival in Ihlava, about 100 km southeast of Prague, when the power went out and the roof began to shake. Festival-goers rushed to the exits in panic, with seven people hospitalized with minor injuries sustained in the stampede, the ChTK news agency reported.
In neighboring Poland, a gust of wind blew away two bouncy castles in the southern village of Radgoszcz. Four children between the ages of 3 and 18 were injured in the incident, the PAP news agency reported.
