Storms on one side, heat waves on the other

After the end of winter, the heat wave has started in the second phase. At the same time, it is raining with Kalbaisakhi storm in different parts of the country. It is also hailing somewhere.

Bangladesh Meteorological Department said that the trend of rain and storm may increase in the next two to three days.

Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet were rainless in the last 24 hours from Saturday 6 pm to Sunday 6 pm. The other four divisions had thunderstorms. The trend of rain was more in Dhaka division. Madaripur has received the highest rainfall of 27 mm during this period.

There were clouds in the sky of Dhaka since morning. In the afternoon, Kalboishakhi storm blew in Dhaka. The sky was covered with dark clouds, but the rain did not. The Meteorological Department has said that there has been slight rain in some places in Dhaka.

Meteorologist Kh. Hafizur Rahman said that in some places of Khulna and Barisal divisions and two or two places of Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions, there may be rain with gusty winds or rain with thunder. Along with that, there may be scattered hailstorms at some places.

Stating that a mild heat wave is flowing over Rajshahi, Pabna and Chuadanga districts, he said that the day and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country in the next 24 hours.

Meteorologist Hafizur Rahman also said that the trend of rainfall with rain or thunder may increase in the next 24 hours.

According to the Meteorological Department, 36 to 38 degrees Celsius is mild, 38 to 40 degrees moderate and more than 40 degrees Celsius is called severe heat wave.

On Sunday, the highest temperature in the country was 36.6 degrees Celsius in Rajshahi and Chuadanga. The maximum temperature in Dhaka was 33.6 degrees Celsius. On Sunday morning, the lowest temperature in the country was at Tentulia in Panchagarh, 19.4 degrees Celsius.

Before this, the first heat wave of the current hot season started on March 12. The mild heat wave lasted for two days.
