From 35 to 6. After having placed 35 departments in orange vigilance for thunderstorms this Friday, Météo France reduced the alert to six departments for this Saturday. Ardèche, Drôme, Isère, Ain, Savoie and Haute-Savoie are concerned, and are also placed in yellow rain-flood vigilance.

“Active rain-stormy” episodes are expected with “violent phenomena”. 47 departments are also on yellow storm vigilance, from the Pyrénées-Atlantiques to the Bas-Rhin, as well as the north-west coast.

“A stormy episode will be organized in several bursts, first in the morning” before “a strengthening in the afternoon”. Under the most violent storms, intense rains are expected, “up to 20 to 40 mm or even more in a short time”, but also “hail falls, sometimes a few centimeters” and “sustained electrical activity”. On the other hand, gusts of wind “are not excluded, but do not constitute the main issue”, specifies Météo France.

Another stormy salvo is possible “during the night from Saturday to Sunday from the South”.
