jpnn.comJAKARTA – The development of the Science Techno Park (STP) is a strategic step in advancing research and technology results towards a better industrialization process, as well as accelerating the campus downstream process and producing more substantial output.

This is in accordance with the vision and mission of the President of the Republic of Indonesia as stated in the Presidential Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 2 of 2020 concerning the National Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMN) for 2020-2024.

Plt. The Director General of Higher Education, Research and Technology at the Ministry of Education and Culture, Nizam, said that STP in Indonesia is expected to not only function as a center for technological development, but also become a means of producing spin-offs that are beneficial for economic growth.

Through the Science Techno Park, the campus must start to become an engine of economic growth through research and innovation.

“Let’s build a global network, connecting Indonesian research centers with global markets, starting from online sessions with institutions such as Oxford, Edinburgh, Stanford and others,” said Nizam in his speech at the Public Discussion discussing the results of the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) regarding STP, Friday (8/3).

Nizam invites everyone to participate in developing an ecosystem where the millennial generation is developing in line and the Science Techno Parks at various universities are connected to develop campus spin-offs.

In this FGD activity, a gap analysis was carried out to obtain input, direction and in-depth understanding of the actual conditions of the Science Techno Park.

The FGD participants came from STP managers at various well-known universities such as ITB, UI, UGM, and IPB, representatives from MIT Reap, Diaspora from England, Australia, Malaysia, and Taiwan, as well as representatives from the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research , and Technology (Kemendikbudristek).

The Ministry of Education and Culture emphasized that the Science Techno Park (STP) should not only be a center for technological development. Here’s the hope.
