Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer Stree 2 shows no signs of slowing down even after two weeks of performing at the box office. The Amar Kaushik directorial has entered its third week and has crossed the Rs 450 crore mark domestically. The film’s collection is much higher than Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawaan and Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2, setting a new benchmark as an all-time blockbuster. The film is expected to cross the Rs 500 crore mark by its fourth week as it continues to break records and set new benchmarks at the box office. It remains to be seen how high it will go.

‘Stree 2’ box office report
According to Sacnilk, ‘Stree 2’ earned Rs 16 crore on its third Saturday, taking its total box office collection to Rs 457.55 crore. Despite the release of new films, ‘Stree 2’ remains the first choice of the audience. It has done better than other releases, including ‘Khel Khel Mein’ and ‘Veda’, which clashed with it on August 15. The film also features cameos by Varun Dhawan, Akshay Kumar and Tamannaah Bhatia.

Filmmakers Raj and DK on Saturday celebrated the 6th anniversary of their hit horror-comedy ‘Stree’. Directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Raj and DK, the film became one of the most loved films, with its sequel ‘Stree 2’ becoming a blockbuster success. How did the idea of making ‘Stree’ come about?
To mark the occasion, Raj and DK shared a note showcasing the journey of the film. They recalled how the idea of Stree was born during a tough time in their career, after the failure of their last film A Gentleman. Raj shared that the idea came from childhood memories of terrifying messages written on walls in his village, warning of a ‘Stree’ who would come if not driven away.
