Government authorities in El Salvador announced at a press conference which streets will be closed due to the Independence Day parade on September 15.
“A crowd is expected on Sunday, near the Plaza Salvador del Mundo and the entire route that will be on the Roosevelt avenue and reaching the Cuscatlan Park,” said the Vice Minister of Transportation, Nelson Reyes.
The head of the VMT indicated that the parade will take place from Plaza Salvador del Mundo to Parque Cuscatlán. Controlled access will be at 25 Av. Sur and Bulevar Constitución, while restricted access will be at Alameda Manuel Enrique Araujo.
The following will parade on this route: Banda El Salvador, Army, National Navy, Air Force, Civil Action, National Public Security Academy, National Civil Police, Students from Educational Centers, Fire Department and Aeronautical Firefighters.
“It will remain completely closed (Roosevelt Avenue) starting at midnight on Sunday, and will be reserved for pedestrians attending the parade,” said the VMT official.
“We will have restricted access on Paseo General Escalón, reaching the Beethoven roundabout and also on Alameda Manuel Enrique Araujo, up to the ball park,” added Nelson Reyes at the conference.
