Kollam: A street man who attacked women in Shastamkota has died. Locals suspect that the dog may have died of rabies. Two women were bitten by this dog last evening. The dog attacked the woman who was walking along the road and another woman who was standing in front of the house. A pet cat was also bitten. Locals also suspect that the same dog has bitten other street dogs.
Yesterday, a police officer, his wife and child were bitten by a stray dog in Shastamkota. The stray dog attacks have escalated and the death of one of the attacking dogs has worried the locals.
The animal welfare department decided to hold a mega camp in the area on Monday due to the increase in stray dog nuisance. The mega camp is being run to identify stray dogs in the area and sterilize them.
