Jeddah: Saudi police arrested 10 expatriates who were involved in a group fight. One person was seriously injured. The video of the dispute in front of a shop was shared on social media and the expatriates were humiliated. Saudi Arabia’s official news agency SPA reported that the Bangladeshi expatriates who appeared in the posted video clip were arrested by the police.

One person sustained serious head injuries in the violence. The injured man is still in the hospital, the SPA said in a report. They were arrested by the police in Hafar Al Batin governorate in the eastern province of Saudi Arabia. The report released by the authorities did not mention the cause or the exact time of the conflict.
Saudi media have reported several arrests of suspects involved in mass clashes in various areas over the past few weeks.

The Saudi police announced last month that eight Saudi nationals were arrested for fighting on a public road. The eight were the second arrests that month. Police have arrested eight people who appeared in a video clip circulated on social media last month, allegedly involved in violence in Al Nayria governorate, part of the country’s eastern province.

In September, Saudi media reported that Saudi police arrested seven other citizens suspected of involvement in a riot. The violence and arrests took place in Tabuk, northern Saudi Arabia, in September. In a video circulating online, gunshots were heard and appeared on video.
