Along these lines, the president emphasized how fundamental it is to collaboration between the different institutions of the State to confront crime and address public safety in a good way. “We are supporting the Carabineros, the PDI, the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the regional governments, the mayors,” he said.

Details of the second phase of the Streets without Violence Plan

In this way, Starting this Monday, August 12thpolice officers will be deployed at high-traffic points, such as the Metro stations, public transport stops and shopping centres.

Added to this, 200 officials who will be equipped with 100 new vehicleswill carry out different operations in specific areas, which are related to the high probability of robbery, homicide and drug trafficking.

Regarding the third phase of the Streets Without Violence Plan, It is expected to start on last quarter of this yearwhose stage will consist of strengthen security at night.
