Strenes opens fire with 15,000 tickets sold and the Buhos party in the Auditorium

by time news

The Buhos festival launched yesterday the eleventh edition of the Strenes festival, which starts with more than 15,000 tickets sold and seven sold-out concerts. According to the director of the festival, Xavi Pascual, expectations are high, because the sales figures are “a very good indicator, at pre-pandemic levels” and a good part of the plenary sessions, such as the doubles by Joan Dausà and Els Amics de les Arts a les escales of the Cathedral or that of Sílvia Pérez Cruz at the Municipal Theatre, they sold out “many days ago, which means that in reality, many more tickets could have been sold”.

In total, the contest has put 20,400 tickets on sale in Girona and 6,000 in Barcelona, of which 15,000 have already been sold, hanging the full capacity poster in concerts such as those by Luz Casal in the Auditorium, in Triquell at the Municipal and from The Tyets and Lal’Ba in La Mirona de Salt, “one of the surprises of this year, because selling out in La Mirona is very complicated”.

“The last time The Tyets came, they sold around 300 tickets, this year, 1,700”, points out the person in charge of the event, who considers it an example of “the bet on emerging groups and the support provided by the festival throughout his musical career”.

“Els Catarres, Judit Neddermann… are artists that we bet on from the beginning and that over the years we have gone from programming them in bars for 50 people to being able to perform in the Auditorium”, says Pascual about the programming criteria of the festival, which combines “headliners who present novelties with the sense of finding names that stand out and that may end up being references”.

In this sense, he recommends following the lead of Socunbohemio and Ven’nus, which will be on the steps of Sant Domènec as part of the free program – 30% of the total, because it has been expanded compared to last year – and that “in the In recent months, they have established themselves as outstanding artists of the year.”

Electronic and festive music

The start of the festival was given by Buhos in an Auditorium full of devoted families. The festive music band presented their new work, fresh from the oven, in which the electronics gain weight without forgetting the house’s trademark festive spirit that made the whole audience raise their asses.

Novelties such as The best moments of life, which opened the evening, or Cerca de ti, found space in a repertoire filled with the group’s most well-known songs, such as Mil batallas, Connected or already in the final stretch, Volcans and El dia of victory

The colophon was La nit està que crema, the song that gives its name to the album they have just released and which summarizes well what the group offers to its audience. In Girona, the night went up in smoke from the 1st minute.

The first weekend of Strenes continues today with Judit Neddermann’s performance at the Auditori and a tribute to Daft Punk in La Mirona.
