The Director General of the National Mining Corporation in Libya discussed with the Minister of Energy, Petroleum and Minerals in Chad aspects of cooperation to benefit from the natural resources on the border strip between the two countries.
During the meeting, which was held in the Chadian capital, N’Djamena, “the two parties reviewed the deep historical ties and close relations that bind the two countries, while stressing the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the mining sector and the exploitation of mineral resources.”
The two sides discussed “proposals to form joint committees to develop sound action plans for sustainable cooperation and effective investment in the field of mining, especially on the Libyan-Chadian Tibesti border strip, which enhances the joint benefit from the natural resources of the two countries.”
The Director of the National Mining Corporation invited the Chadian Minister to visit Libya, “with the aim of completing discussions on how to enhance cooperation and achieve maximum benefits from the great mineral wealth that both countries abound with.”
