Strengthening parliamentary cooperation at the heart of Mr. Talbi Alami’s talks with the president of the Indonesia-Morocco Parliamentary Friendship Group

During the meeting, the two sides highlighted the depth and solidity of the historical relations between the two countries and the two peoples, while expressing their common will to strengthen the parliamentary cooperation relations between the two legislative institutions, intensify mutual visits and strengthen bilateral and multilateral coordination on parliamentary issues of common interest, said a statement from the House of Representatives.

On this occasion, the chairman of the Indonesia-Morocco friendship parliamentary group stressed that the signing of the strategic cooperation agreement in 2023 between the two countries reflects their firm desire to expand and diversify the areas of bilateral cooperation, adding that Morocco stands as a strategic partner for Indonesia.

Likewise, Mr. Al-Habsyi highlighted the great solidarity of Morocco and Indonesia with the Palestinian cause, praising the eminent role played by Morocco in this regard under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee.

For his part, Mr. Talbi Alami praised the level of relations between the two countries, particularly in its parliamentary aspect, stressing the importance of further promoting exchanges and cooperation between Morocco and Indonesia in different areas.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives thanked the Indonesian Parliament for its support to the Moroccan Parliament in obtaining the status of “observer member” within the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of AIPA, welcoming the continuous coordination and consultation between the two legislative institutions at the bilateral and multilateral levels.

Recalling the Atlantic Initiative launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI to promote access for Sahel countries to the Atlantic Ocean, Mr. Talbi Alami indicated that Morocco is a gateway to the African market and an important investment hub thanks to the diversity of its partnerships and its economic openness.

This meeting took place in the presence of the president of the Moroccan-Indonesian parliamentary friendship group, Abdellatif El-Fouikar and the Indonesian ambassador to Morocco, Harsul Azwar.
