Title: Chennai Traffic Police to Take Stringent Action Against Drunken Drivers on the Weekend

Chennai Traffic Police has announced strict measures to crack down on drunken driving in the city and its suburbs. As part of their action plan, the police will be conducting thorough inspections and imposing fines on offenders found driving under the influence of alcohol during specific time frames.

The police, who usually take daily action against traffic violators, have noted that this operation is a routine and smooth affair. However, on weekends, they plan to intensify their efforts and actively conduct raids in Chennai and its suburbs. Additionally, they will specifically target those driving in the opposite direction on one-way lanes on Friday.

Starting from 8 pm to 12 am on Saturdays, the police are set to take strict action against drunk drivers. This initiative will be implemented at three different locations within each police station boundary. They aim to not only apprehend drunk drivers but also collect fines related to old cases more aggressively.

Furthermore, the police are planning to crackdown on various other traffic offenses on Sundays. Offenses such as riding without a helmet, driving under the influence, carrying more than three passengers in a vehicle, driving without insurance, and not wearing a seat belt will be strictly enforced. To ensure compliance, comprehensive tests will be conducted, leaving no room for escape for the violators.

In recent times, an increase in incidents attributed to drunk driving has alarmed authorities. Consequently, the police are intensifying efforts to prevent accidents caused by driving under the influence of alcohol. They are determined to chase away drunkards and enforce stringent penalties.

This crackdown will be in effect from Friday to Sunday, aiming to create an atmosphere of road safety and responsible driving. Chennai Traffic Police actively encourages citizens to abide by traffic rules and regulations and cooperate to ensure the safety of all road users.
