Among the railway workers, “greviculture” is never fallow and thrives everywhere. The movement is led this year by a collective of controllers born on Facebook. Nevertheless, strike 2.0 does not hurt less. For travelers deprived of trains at Christmas and New Year’s Day, it’s disgust, anger, spoiled holidays. Neither ticket refunds nor CEO apologies will change that.
The indignation goes beyond the only victims, because nothing is really defensible at the SNCF. Social conditions? With an increase in their remuneration of nearly 12% in two years, who can believe that the controllers are poorly protected against the outbreak of inflation? The quality of service?
