Strike of March 7 and 8: civil aviation demands the cancellation of 20 to 30% of flights

by time news

There will be disturbances in the air. The General Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGAC) announces that it has asked airlines, as part of the new days of mobilization against the pension reform, scheduled for March 7 and 8, to cancel 20% of flights on the Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle airport and 30% of flights at Paris-Orly, Beauvais, Bordeaux, Lille, Lyon, Nantes, Marseille, Montpellier, Nice and Toulouse airports over these two days.

“Disturbances and delays are nevertheless to be expected” for flights that would not be canceled, also warns the DGAC, which “invites passengers who can to postpone their trip”. It is the airlines that must inform passengers of the status of their flight.

Representatives of the CGT federations called on several sectors on Thursday to “step up a notch” in the mobilization against the pension reform and to “bring France to a halt” on March 7. “The renewable strike will be effective in all French refineries, on all imports”, noted Emmanuel Lépine. The secretary general of the CGT of electricians and gas, Sébastien Ménesplier promised “a dark week in energy”, with targeted cuts, blockages, occupations, and always “Robin Hood operations” for the population.
