Strike | Yaffa Ben-David in teaching teachers and kindergarten teachers: “Do not go to schools and kindergartens tomorrow”

by time news

The fifth wave of corona virus is leading to a severe increase in morbidity, and to many isolations in the education system. Prime Minister Naftali Bennett is holding a discussion with top officials of the Ministry of Health and relevant members of his government, Education Minister Dr. Yifat Shasha Bitton and Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz regarding the abolition of isolation in the education system.

Yaffa Ben-David, secretary general of the Teachers’ Union, ordered a strike tomorrow and wrote: “In light of the government’s decision exposing you to the corona virus in a way that endangers your health and in the face of thousands of requests, protest measures will be taken tomorrow.” In the special education institutions, studies will take place as usual. The special education classes in regular schools will join the protest. “

The Ministry of Health demanded that the new isolation plan be postponed, which allows students to come to school even if they have been exposed to verified patients, subject to two weekly corona tests. The Histadrut also calls for the outline to be rejected. Despite this, Health Minister Horowitz sided with the prime minister who supported the outline.

The full outline

Students throughout the education system will be required to perform two antigen tests a week – on Sundays and Wednesdays, before school day.

– After the test, the student or one of the parents is required to report it on the Ministry of Education portal.

– A student whose home test result is negative: will arrive at the educational institution for a study routine.

– A student whose home test result is positive: he will not come to school and will be examined at a supervised test station. If the result of the supervised examination is negative – the student will return to the educational institution for a study routine. If the result of the supervised test is positive – the student will perform five full days of isolation until recovery (subject to home tests on days 4 and 5 and a negative result in both).

An unvaccinated student who is not tested on Sundays and Wednesdays, and fills in the data on the Ministry of Education portal, will be required to enter full isolation (5 full days) in case a verified student is discovered in his class.

– It should be emphasized: a student with symptoms is required not to attend school until the symptoms have passed – the person who is ill stays at home.

– In case of direct and close exposure to verified (in class, at home or in the afternoon) – it is recommended to be checked daily, for the five days from the date of exposure.

– A student who is at high risk for a serious illness due to a background illness or one of his nuclear family members is in a risk group – will not be allowed to attend school in the coming month.

– Tomorrow, Thursday, January 27, 2222, all Israeli students are required to perform a one-time home examination before arriving at school.
