Stromae and “the dream of Paris” in dance for Baldassarri and Raffaeli · Rhythmic Gymnastics
The “dream of Paris” holds different meanings for athletes. For a cyclist, it might be the Tour de France, while for a tennis player, it might be the Roland Garros. But in 2024, for rhythmic gymnasts Sofia Raffaeli and Milena Baldassarri, it signifies the Olympic Games.
These two talented athletes have found a unique way to express their interpretation of this dream - through their captivating performance on stage. Just a few weeks before their flight to Paris, they chose Stromae’s song “La Solassitude” as the soundtrack for their routine. This song, which speaks of loneliness in a couple, was transformed into a more general expression of unity and companionship.
While they are soloists in their individual routines, they know they can rely on each other before, during, and after every competition. Their strong bond, forged through years of support and competition, is something they cherish.
Their relationship can be summed up by the words “like a sister,” highlighting the deep connection they share. This emotion is further emphasized by the fact that they are the only two remaining gymnasts from their group in Fabriano.
