Villarreal players celebrate (La Liga)
The 28th round of the Spanish league continued tonight (Saturday) with four games that provided a very modest amount of goals – only four. In the spotlight, Villarreal recorded an important 0-1 over Salta Vigo and climbed to sixth place, just three points away from fourth-placed Barcelona (and played two games less). In addition, Valencia and Getafe parted with a disappointing 0: 0, Levante from last place finished 1: 1 against Espanyol while Elche recorded 0: 1 over Grande, climbed to 13th place and further complicated its rival at the bottom. The games, like all Spanish league games, were broadcast on Channel ONE for HOT subscribers, yes subscribers, Cellcom TV and Partner TV.
Villarreal – Salta Vigo 0: 1
An important victory for the yellow submarine, which recovered from the loss to Osasuna in the previous round and temporarily overtook Real Sociedad, with 45 points at its disposal, only one less than the fifth striker and only three less than the fourth Barcelona (who played two games less). The Galicians recorded a second loss in the last three rounds and remain at the center of the table. The one who decided the match was Danny Farho, who enjoyed Mano Trigros’ cooking and scored a great goal with an elegant finish in the 64th minute.
Hattafa – Valencia 0: 0
The Bats, hosted by the team from Madrid who have scored just two points in their last four games, hoped to put together a third consecutive victory and approach the battle for a place in Europe, but failed to win and for the fourth time this season finished a league game 0-0. Although the host increased the gap from Cadiz below the Edo line to 4 points, it is still strong in the battle against relegation, the guest remains in ninth place with 37 points, seven less than Real Sociedad which is in seventh place which may lead to Europe.
Levante – Espanyol 1: 1
The Catalans, who beat Hattafa in the previous round, were first on the scoreboard, Sergi Dader cooked for Xabi Fuado with a brilliant ball, and the latter found the left corner and scored. Levante did not give up and in the 80th minute Danny Gomes reached a return ball from an extension and hit close to the net, in which he divided the points. The host could feel a sense of missing out, as she dominated the game and came up with more opportunities (14 vs. just six of the visitors), but both teams were not accurate enough. Espanyol now have 33 points and are still a reasonable distance from the red line, but they could still get tangled up and there is no doubt that a win in the next round will calm the system.
Granada – Elche 1: 0
Hot bottom battle. The host, who have failed to win their last seven games, saw Fidel Chavez put his side ahead at their expense, following a 11-minute pre-match by Mia. The guest’s goal held until the end of the game, at the end of which she scored three important points. Elche’s victory cut two consecutive losses to Barcelona and Bante, following which it passed Rayo Vallecano in the table and took 13th place. Granada, on the other hand, are recording their seventh loss in the last eight games, getting even closer to the place that leads to relegation at the end of the season, as they are only one point away from Cadiz who are in 18th place.
