At the beginning, the 30-year-old was able to keep up well and, thanks to a double break, took a clear lead in the first set and ultimately closed the first sack with a score of 6:2.

However, the balance of power changed in the second set, in which the Brazilian counterpart secured a decisive break at 2:1 and in the end equalized the set at 6:3. This leads to an all-important third movement.
