The 25-year-old came in second in the qualifying round on Sunday morning. The eight best advanced to the final. It will take place on Monday at 9:30 AM.
– I felt very confident when I started the competition, and I feel I am getting my job done, says Hegg Duestad to NTB about her strong start.
Faced Trouble
However, during the fourth series, the 25-year-old encountered problems. When she finally got back to shooting, she performed somewhat inconsistently for a period. Toward the end of the qualification, she significantly improved her performance.
– I am reaping the benefits of good preparations. I know how to get back on track, continues Hegg Duestad.
Synnøve Berg finished 14th in the qualification, but the 17-year-old was still very pleased. She made her final appearance in Paris on Sunday.
Hegg Duestad competed in Tokyo three years ago. There she placed fourth in the 10-meter air rifle event after setting a new Olympic record in qualification. She also came in 4th place in the 50-meter rifle match event in Tokyo.
