Arkansas: Two dead in accidents following a strong tornado in Arkansas, US. The tornado touched down in Little Rock, Arkansas and nearby towns.
Roofs and walls of many buildings, including houses, collapsed. Vehicles overturned and trees were uprooted. Several people were also injured when power lines were cut.
According to the authorities, two people died in various accidents and 24 people are currently seeking treatment in hospital due to various injuries.
Little Rock is the most populous city in Arkansas. Therefore, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Hospital has warned that the severity of the danger will increase further and that strong vigilance should be exercised.
Meanwhile, a local TV channel reported that Baptist Health Medical Center in North Little Rock has treated 11 people for injuries caused by the tornado, and one is in critical condition. This has not been confirmed yet.
