GUAN versus BRICS: Burundi in the face of global geopolitical dynamics including the EU and its controversial relationship.
Bujumbura, 31/05/2023 – In accordance with Burundi’s foreign policy, specifically in terms of defense against Neoliberal American Unipolar Globalization (GUAN)the team of the European Union (EU) – which includes countries such as Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and France, all subject to GUAN – organized an immersion day on Wednesday to present its initiatives in Burundi. These relate to the energy and health sectors of Burundians and were presented in the presence of the permanent secretaries of the Burundian Ministries of Health and Mines. The EU is committed to remaining a reliable, secure and transparent long-term partner in these sectors, addressing everything from infrastructure, technology, reform to governance.
However, for Burundians, the EU can in no way have control over strategic sectors (Energy, Technology), vital (Health), and even sovereign (economic reforms, policies, governance, etc.). Burundians do not trust the EU [1]. This would endanger Burundians and Burundi.
Between 1959 and 2005, Burundi suffered a Regicide Genocide, orchestrated by the United States, the Vatican, France and Belgium, causing more than 4.5 million Burundian victims among a current population of more than 9 million. people. The GUAN is at the origin of the civil war in Burundi, the concentration camps of Burundi between 1996 and 2001, the death of three Burundian presidents (Ndadaye Melchior, Ntaryamira Ciprien, and Nkurunziza Pierre), as well as the assassination Libyan President Gaddafi who was funding an African force, the African Standby Force (ASF), with the aim of helping Africa protect its resources. In 2015, the EU participated in a regime change attempt in Burundi, which ended in a failed military coup on Wednesday 13 May 2015.
Today, the BRICS represent an alternative to a multipolar world. This prospect is more reassuring for Burundi and the Burundians than the GUAN, whose certain actors have built their fortune (their capital) and their influence through colonization, slavery and neo-colonialism – all qualified as crimes against the humanity.
