Kochi: A 10th class student has drowned in Periyar near UC College, Aluva. Her boyfriend has been arrested. The minor accused was arrested by the Aluva Narcotics Cell DySP. The forensic examination revealed that the girl was a victim of torture. The accused was later nabbed during an investigation conducted by the police, including the Poxo departments.
The girl went missing on December 23. The girl, who went to school, went missing in the evening and her family lodged a complaint with the police. Locals said they saw the girl near the wooden bridge. CCTV footage also showed the girl passing through the area.
