The Marxist Communist Party has accused the Youth Congress party of killing the student and entering the college from outside. The college was closed indefinitely due to the incident and all the students were safely evacuated by the police.

Idukki police have registered a case in connection with the murder of a student and are searching the web for the culprits who escaped. Commenting on the incident, First-Minister Binarayi Vijayan said the student murder on the college campus was heartbreaking. He said police have been ordered to arrest the culprits immediately.
