Palakode,
Srinivasan (age 18) and Kanimozhi (17), sons of Murugan and Manga, cleaners in Palakodu Municipality, Dharmapuri District, won the South Indian Junior Hockey Tournament held at Ramanathapuram from 20th to 26th.
In this, Srinivasan played well as the captain of the men’s team and won the gold medal for the Tamil Nadu team. Similarly, the Kanimozhi team won the silver medal in the women’s category.
In appreciation of them, Chairman PK Murali Srinivasan, on behalf of Palakodu municipality, honored Kanimozhi and their parents with a souvenir and a shield.
Municipal Executive Officer Darthi, Cleaning Supervisor Ravindran, Physical Education Teacher Ranganathan, Municipal Vice President Tahaseena Iritatullah, Councilors Saravanan, Periyasamy, Ruhit, Pathekhan, Sadiq and cleaning staff participated in large numbers and congratulated them.
