/ The Secretary of the Student Sports Club for Football confirmed on Tuesday that the club’s management is currently bearing a heavy burden to return sums of money to players and coaches due to previous debts, pointing out that the club’s treasury has become empty due to previous debts to players and coaches.

Bassem Jamal told Agency that all the debts owed by the previous administrations began to appear during the era of our temporary administration, and this created great confusion in our work, especially since every amount we received we paid for the debts until the club’s coffers became empty of money.

Jamal added that the last complaint filed with the Football Association against our club to claim previous dues was from former club president Alaa Kazem, who is demanding an amount he had spent on the club from his own pocket amounting to 300 million dinars.

He stated that the current interim administration is facing difficulty in paying the huge debts, even though the Ministry of Higher Education has not defaulted, but the debts seem to never end and will confuse our accounts in supporting the football team and preparing the teams for local and foreign participation.

The Players and Coaches Affairs Committee of the Iraqi Football Federation invited the representative of the Student Sports Club to come to the Federation’s headquarters the day after tomorrow, Thursday, regarding the lawsuit submitted by Alaa Kazem Jabr, the former head of the administrative body, against the current administration to demand his dues that he spent on the club from his own pocket when he was President of the club, he said.
