According to information from the Attorney General of the State of Veracruz (FGE) two students identified as Juan Diego “N” y Carlos Alfredo “N” (minor) met after leaving class with their teacher -called Diego Yasmar Barrales San Juanof 40 years old- in a crowded place.

The alleged perpetrators contacted Diego Yasmar’s family to demand a sum of money in exchange for the teacher’s freedom, but were unable to receive payment so they decided to take his life.

The above happened last August 6thbut on the 8th of that month the relatives held a demonstration in Xalapa to demand that the authorities find the teacher after unsuccessfully searching for him.

He August 8thauthorities found the lifeless body of Diego Yasmar Barrales San Juan in the municipality of Álamo.

The case was referred to the Regional Prosecutor’s Office Northern Zone Tuxpan institution that managed to charge Juan Diego “N” and the minor whose identity is protected with the crime of aggravated kidnapping.

A control judge set preventive detention for Juan Diego “N”, while the minor student will remain detained in the Special Detention Center for Adolescents.

It was revealed that the reasons that led the students to deprive their teacher of his freedom and life were a matter of revenge.

At the moment, the authorities have not given any details in this regard and consider both young men as alleged masterminds of the kidnapping and murder of Diego Yasmar Barrales San Juan.
