Belarusian and Russian pilots conducted another patrol of the borders of the Union State on multipurpose fighters SU-30SM, the republic’s defense ministry said on Tuesday.
“Belarusian and Russian pilots carry out tasks of joint patrolling of the air borders of the Union State on multipurpose Su-30SM fighters,” the message in the Telegram channel of the Belarusian military department says.
Earlier, the same source made it clear that a decision was made to increase the composition of the air defense duty forces and joint patrolling of the state border in the airspace by aviation of the air force and air defense forces of Belarus and the aerospace forces of the Russian Federation.
This decision, specified by the leadership of the ministry, was made “in connection with the increased frequency of flights of various types of aviation near the state border of the Republic of Belarus and in the interests of preventing violations of the state border in the airspace.” In addition, an increase in military activity in the neighboring EU states was noted in Minsk.
Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin emphasized that the buildup of NATO forces near the republic’s borders and, in particular, the strengthening of Poland’s military component can be regarded as “a set of measures to prepare for war.” According to him, it seems that Warsaw wants to unleash the conflict by drawing the European Union into it.
