São Paulo traveled to Minas Gerais to face Cruzeiro this Wednesday night (02) in dispute for the Brazilian Under-17 Championship. Despite taking the lead, with an own goal, Tricolor was defeated by the opponent by 2×1 in a dispute at Arena Vera Cruz, in Betim (MG).
The #MadeInCotia team opened the scoring with an own goal in the 26th minute when, after a cross, the defense sent it into their own nets. In the second stage, despite dominating the game, the tricolor team saw the miners score twice and set the score.
With the setback, the boys know the first defeat in the competition after five rounds of the national tournament – Tricolor has 12 points added and falls from the leadership to the second position of group B.
The São Paulo team will play again for the Brazilian Championship next Tuesday (08), in a classic against Santos, at 3 pm, in Cotia. Before, the team plays for the Paulista Championship, which resumes on Saturday (05) after a break for school holidays. The team will face Brasilis, at 11 am, in Águas de Lindóia.
