Only about 5 months ago, Subaru unveiled the new and sixth generation of the Forester, the popular off-road vehicle, and now its marketing has begun in Israel. The new Forester looks like an evolution of its predecessor or, if you like, a significant facelift rather than a completely new generation – it has kept dimensions close to the outgoing one as well as the same drive unit, while the exterior design is new and reminiscent of Ford models, for example, but the passenger compartment has been updated and seems to maintain loyalty to the familiar design . The entry price has increased by NIS 26,000, but the equipment of the entry version is more similar to the XS. What else has changed?
Finish levels
The familiar finish level rating (eg Z, X, XS) has been replaced by designations and now the entry version is called “Premium” and in terms of equipment is equivalent (more or less) to the XS. Here is keyless entry and drive, heated seats, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, 11.6″ multimedia screen (previously 8), reverse camera, wireless charging pad (new), sun window (previously panoramic), electric trunk, 17″ rims and more .
Same platform, new design

The next trim level is the “Sport”, and it includes 19″ rims and interior and exterior design touches, as well as an extended X-Mode terrain selector.
The “Limited” trim level is content with 18″ rims, but adds leather upholstery, memories for the driver’s seat, heated rear seats, upgraded daytime running lights, rain sensors, contactless trunk door opening, a “Harman Kardon” audio system with 11 speakers and a subwoofer, and old safety Also a system for monitoring the driver’s fatigue and lack of concentration.
The highest trim level, “Limited Plus” additionally includes surround cameras, ventilation in the front seats, leather coating on the gear knob, and the 19″ rims return.

drive unit
The new Forester in the sixth generation continues to use the drive unit of the previous generation – a boxer engine with a volume of 2.5 liters and a capacity of 180 hp. The engine is mated to a continuous gearbox with an artificial division into 8 gears, and Subaru’s well-known symmetrical double drive. The combined fuel consumption is 12.5 km per liter.
The ventral space is 22 cm (the same as the outgoing generation), the approach angle is 19 degrees (one degree smaller), the departure angle is 24.6 degrees (the same) and the belly angle is 19.6 degrees (the same).
