Suborbital flight on New Shepard spacecraft with Bezos purchased for $ 28 million

An unknown buyer bought the opportunity to go on a suborbital flight on the New Shepard of the American company Blue Origin, along with its founder Jeff Bezos.

About 7,600 people from 159 countries have registered to participate in the auction to purchase a “ticket” for the spacecraft. The winner will go on a suborbital flight with Bezos and his brother Mark on July 20. The name of the unknown rich man will be announced within a few weeks after the completion of the flight. Later it will become known who the fourth crew member was.

It is noted that this “journey” will last 11 minutes.

According to the company’s website, the New Shepard will take off from the launch site in Texas. When the capsule with the crew separates, the booster stage makes a vertical landing, the capsule will rise to an altitude of about 105 km above the Earth’s surface, then it will land by parachute.

Earlier, Blue Origin conducted 15 test flights of the New Shepard in unmanned mode.
