The General Authority for Statistics released the number of pilgrims this year. Statistics revealed that out of a total of 899,353 pilgrims, 779,919 came from outside the country and 119,434 included Saudi nationals and expatriates.
During this Hajj season, an integrated group of 13 government agencies working under the supervision of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is managing the movement and transportation of pilgrims.

Mohammad Al Garni, head of the unit involved in assisting pilgrims from Arafat, said the ministry has developed an integrated plan for all services, including transportation, accommodation and organizational procedures, to ensure that pilgrims receive the best service. The service will be ensured till the Hajj is completed and the pilgrims return to their homeland.

A special travel route has been prepared this year for those who wish to perform Tawaf al-Ifada before leaving to perform the ritual of stoning the devil.
