New Delhi: It is said that if you are dedicated to a task and work hard, you will get success in no time. This is absolutely true for Santosh Kumar Yadav of Tijara. After completing his diploma in mechanical engineering, when he started working as a trainee in an air conditioner manufacturing company, he did not even know that he would achieve this position. Today, he not only supplies heat exchangers to companies like Daikin, Schneider, Kirloskar and Blue Star, but also exports them to nine countries of the world including America and Canada. Today we are telling you the success story of Santosh Kumar Yadav, founder and managing director of KRN Heat Exchanger and Refrigeration Limited.

Born in Tijara

Santosh Kumar Yadav was born in a small village of Tijara in Rajasthan. He received his primary education from there. After passing high school, Santosh got admission in Barmer Polytechnic College. There he went to do a diploma in mechanical engineering. The advantage of doing a diploma was that he got a job immediately after passing from there. This gave a lot of relief to his farmer father.

Learned work with dedication

Santosh Kumar Yadav tells that he got a job in LLOYD Electric & Engineering LTD. He was made to join there as a trainee operator. He worked there for about 11 years. When he was leaving the job from there, he was the head of operations of the company. That means that in such a short time, he became skilled and learnt every detail about making the heat exchange of the air conditioner. During this time, he also studied management from Ghaziabad’s Institute of Management and Technology (IMT).

spent two years in the Czech Republic

He says that his passion for work and learning was so intense that his company sent him to the Czech Republic for a period of more than two years. There he learnt the tricks of advanced manufacturing at the Luvata / Heat Craft plant. Along with this, he got the opportunity to work with and learn about the latest machines from around the world related to air conditioners and refrigeration.

he started his work again

Santosh joined Lloyd Electric and Engineering Limited in 2002 and left in 2013. In the same time, he reached the post of Head of Operation. After leaving there, in 2013 itself, he founded a company named Micro Coil and Refrigerant in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan. He ran it till 2017. Then he got a good offer for this company, so he sold his stake and left. Because he had to do something big.

The foundation of KRN heat exchanger was laid again

When he left Micro Coil, he had a good amount of cash. After this, he along with his wife Anju Devi founded KRN Heat Exchanger and Refrigeration Limited. At that time, he set up a heat exchanger manufacturing plant in about 10,000 square meters of space in the RICO Industrial Area of Neemrana. Gradually, it expanded and started making all types of heat exchangers. Whether it is evaporator coil, condenser coil, fluid and steam coil or condensing and air cooling unit, he mastered everything. At present, he is preparing to set up another big factory.

Japanese company became customer

Santosh got his first success when a Japanese company like Daikin became his customer. Today, most of the air conditioners manufactured by Daikin in India, whether industrial or institutional, have heat exchangers from KRN Heat Exchanger. Apart from this, reputed companies like Schneider, Blue Star, Kirloskar etc. became his customers. Today, he also exports to the US, Canada, and European countries like Italy, Germany and Poland.

bringing IPO

Santosh Kumar Yadav’s company is working fast on its expansion plan. In this sequence, the company is setting up another plant in Neemrana itself. This is 6 times bigger than the current plant. To raise capital for this, the company is entering the IPO market. The company has also received permission from the stock market regulator SEBI for this. If everything goes well, the company’s IPO will hit the market in the next one month. The company plans to raise about Rs 250 crore from the market.

what is a heat exchanger

If you have seen an air conditioner, you must have seen fins woven with copper wire in it. This is in its outdoor unit. This is the heat exchanger. Similarly, a heat exchanger is installed at the back of the refrigerator. Actually, heat exchangers are devices that are designed to transfer heat between two fluids without allowing them to mix. Meaning that it removes the heat from the room and fills it with cold air. Similarly, in the winter season, the heat exchanger removes cold air from the room and fills it with hot air.
