The platform has emerged as a gamechanger
India has the largest livestock population in the world with more than 536 million cattle. However, access to health care remains a significant challenge for these animals. Especially in rural areas where more than 95% cattle are reared. The limited number of veterinary hospitals in the country increases this problem. Amidst these challenges, Manish’s animal husbandry platform Verdant Impact has emerged as a game-changer. This has made a big difference in livestock health care. This has empowered farmers to take decisions with right information.
felt the need after the death of their buffaloes
Manish K. Prahlad created this platform after realizing the dire need for accessible health care for cattle. After his buffaloes fell ill, Prahlad had to struggle to find a physician who could provide the necessary help. Due to this their buffaloes ultimately died. Prahlad recognized the economic impact of such losses and the importance of livestock in rural communities. Keeping this in mind, he planned to develop a platform that could solve these challenges. Bringing veterinary care closer to farmers.
Platform provides telemedicine facility
One of the key features of the platform is Animal ICU. This is a telemedicine facility. It provides real-time diagnostics, remote monitoring and virtual veterinary consultation for livestock care. Farmers can upload videos, photos and detailed descriptions of their animals. This allows doctors or paramedics to provide consultation and prescription from a distance.
Fees from Rs 95 to Rs 200
The startup generates revenue through direct sales, commissions and co-branding. With over 25,000 monthly active users and 18,000 paying customers, the startup has gained significant popularity primarily in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. The company charges Rs 95 for telemedical consultancy calls regardless of duration. If necessary, an additional Rs 200 is charged for field visit. Verdant Impact aims to achieve a target of Rs 100 crore by FY 2025.
