The NASA crew, consisting of Commander Stephen Bowen, Pilot Woody Hoburg, United Arab Emirates Astronaut Sultan Alneyadi and Roscosmos Cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev, have returned safely after 186 days in orbit, marking the end of an exceptional mission on the International Space Station (ISS).
The return trip had its share of excitement, as it had to be postponed for a day due to adverse weather at the landing area. But, as always, the safety of the crew was the priority.
NASA celebrates the successful splashdown of the Dragon spacecraft, which concludes the agency’s sixth commercial crew rotation mission to the ISS. The Dragon Endurance capsule has traveled nearly 79 million miles (126.4 million kilometers) during its mission and has performed countless scientific experiments for the benefit of mankind.
This return marks a milestone in space exploration and paves the way for future missions, including the Artemis mission with which NASA plans to return to the Moon. A round of applause to the Crew-6 team for their dedication and contribution to science and space exploration!
