“Succession” Dominates with 27 Nominations for the 75th Emmy Awards

CNN — The nominations for the prestigious 75th Emmy Awards were unveiled on Wednesday morning, with HBO’s hit drama series “Succession” leading the pack with a whopping 27 nominations. The critically acclaimed show was closely followed by “The Last of Us” with 24 nominations, “The White Lotus” with 23 nominations, and “Ted Lasso” with 21 nominations.

This year, the Television Academy seemed to embrace darker content, as demonstrated by multiple nods for somber shows such as “Succession,” “The Last of Us,” “Yellowjackets,” “Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,” and “Beef.” Netflix’s “Dahmer” received significant recognition, not only in technical categories but also for the performances of Evan Peters, Niecy Nash-Betts, and Richard Jenkins, who were all nominated for their portrayals in the chilling story about the infamous serial killer.
