The high command was furious with K Sudhakaran’s remark that Nehru had met with communal fascists. Seeking an explanation, the High Command also issued a warning not to repeat such a statement. The High Command is also unhappy with Sudhakaran’s continuous pro-RSS statements. A section of leaders are of the opinion that Sudhakaran should be removed from the post of PCC President, who is constantly making harmful statements to the Congress. Complaints were made to the high command including MPs from the state. Tariq Anwar, the general secretary in charge of Kerala, sought an explanation from Sudhakaran.
League discontent is natural: KC Venugopal
KC Venugopal, general secretary in charge of organization, said that it is natural for the Muslim League to be dissatisfied with Sudhakaran’s remarks. They will have concerns. Can’t blame the league. The Congress position at the national level is clear. Sudhakaran’s reference to giving protection to the RSS is based on his experience 50 years ago. He corrected his remarks about Nehru. Venugopal said that the chapter ended with that.
UDF will talk to constituents:- Tariq Anwar
Tariq Anwar told the media that Sudhakaran expressed regret. Sudhakaran assured that such statements will not be made in future. Tongue can happen to anyone. We are investigating what happened. Tariq Anwar said the Congress leadership will talk to the disgruntled UDF constituents.
