COSENZA. Stronger than a red and numerical inferiority for a time. Südtirol beat Cosenza 2-0 with a goal in each half. Rover scores at the start, Zedadka doubles in the second half. In the middle, the expulsion of Kurtic for protests which in the end will prove to be painless for Valente’s men. The red and whites thus advance to sixth place in the standings, seven points behind leaders Pisa.
THE NEWS – The match starts a few minutes late due to some problems probably due to the functioning of the VAR. After an initial chance scored by Ricciardi, it is Südtirol who takes control of the match, breaking the deadlock in the 8th minute. The usual Rover converges from the left unchallenged, arriving towards the center and passing Micai with a left foot. The first half went by quickly, with a few more chances for both sides, but in full injury time Südtirol remained with ten men. Kurtic protests with excessive vehemence for the large recovery granted: Perenzoni draws the red card and leaves the red and whites with one man less.
In the second half, which began with a further delay due to the aforementioned problems, Cosenza tried to push hard with the extra man. A couple of headers from Strizzolo make the guests tremble, but in the end it is Südtirol who scores again: Merkaj plays for Zedadka, who drills Micai from the edge with a flat shot for the 2-0. The red and white fort holds up until the final whistle, which brings the fourth championship victory for Valente’s men.
