Sulaymaniyah Governorate will host the fourth round of the Cycling League from September 13 to 17.
The head of the Cycling Federation, Ali Hamid, told the (INA): “The competitions of the fourth and final round of the club league for the game will be held in Sulaymaniyah Governorate, and the championship includes races for juniors, youth, advanced, women and young women, and all teams from the central and southern governorates participate in the competitions.”
He added, “The races include individual and team time trial and individual race overall. The roads on which the races will be held were selected by the Competitions Committee and the Technical Committee. They are similar to the roads on which the Arab Championship competitions will be held, which Sulaymaniyah will host next November, with the participation of between 15 and 18 Arab countries that have expressed their readiness to participate in the championship.”
He explained that “the fourth stage of the league competitions are a rehearsal for all committees and a demonstration of their success, readiness and application of the terms to be ready for the Arab Championship.”
He explained that “the selection of our national team coaches and players will be based on the levels and results during the league competitions to hold a training camp in Sulaymaniyah in preparation for the Arab Championship, on the background of which the Arab Union’s General Assembly meeting will be held, as well as holding a refereeing workshop for Arab referees.”
