Many French people seem to have already chosen their destination for this summer. Reservations are up 2.6% compared to 2019, before the Covid. Journalist Anthony Jolly is on the set of 19/20 to talk about it.
Thursday, June 2, many French people have already chosen their destination for July and August. This will be especially in the South. “The Côte d’Azur in mind, the departments of Languedoc and Spain too, the Costa Brava, in the northeast, very popular with holidaymakers. Normally sure values, sun almost guaranteed! Conversely, the West Coast is a little less successful this year. Less 26% of reservations in Calvados, less 20% in Manche”explains Anthony Jolly on the set of 19/20.
If the sea and the sun are privileged, will this be felt on the prices? “Yes, rental prices are on the rise, regardless of the type of property rented. For an apartment by the sea, count on average 661 euros per week, a 5% increase compared to last year. (…) Corsica and the Côte d’Azur are the most expensive destinations”reports the journalist. For those who haven’t booked yet, don’t delay. On average, 64% of holiday homes are booked this summer.
