In this regard, four institutions in Al-Quds, namely the Spafford Children’s Center, the Saraya Center, the Wad al-Jouz Association and the Arab Orthodox Union Club, have focused their activities on the psychological preparation of children for the start of the school year.

The activities of the centres included academic support, depending on the different levels, through “play and learn” workshops and intelligence and insight games.

Over the past three weeks, scheduled activities included recreational and fun activities, as well as workshops aimed at encouraging team spirit and cooperative behavior in completing tasks, as well as a program to identify displaced villages and experience wilderness survival and self-reliance.

The program also includes first aid and emergency training as well as training in best practices in fire management supervised and led by professional trainers.

This summer school program is sponsored by the Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency, with funding from the Moroccan Cultural Center Association, and allows beneficiary children to acquire useful knowledge and skills, while building their personality.

These activities benefit 4,000 children from Maqdissi spread across 17 establishments located in all the city’s districts, as well as in villages under the Al-Quds governorate.

The “Summer Schools” program this year focuses on varied activities that help build the child’s personality by instilling in them the values of integrity, perseverance and respect for family, traditions and local identity.

The choice of the schools in question was based on compliance with safety and security standards, in order to provide the beneficiary children, aged 6 to 14, with a stimulating environment that allows them to release their energy and reveal their talents in the fields of sport and art, through 150 art, theater and balance and intelligence games workshops, supervised by professional trainers.
