On November 1, Suncheon City (Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu) will decorate the fall night with a drone show boasting the largest scale ever, with 2,025 drones flying over the 60,000 pyeong Ocheon Green Square sky.

This drone show, which is part of the opening ceremony of the 「2024 Global Content Festival in Suncheon」 (hereinafter referred to as Content Festival), breaks the general framework and is produced with a concept using webtoon and animation ‘characters’. The official event begins at 7 p.m. on the 1st, and the character drone show will mark the finale of the opening ceremony.

This drone show, which is being presented for the first time in Suncheon, is already attracting the attention of citizens as it is said to fill the sky over Ocheon Green Square with various characters such as ▲Dooly the Baby Dinosaur ▲The Foreigners of Fear (Wandering Magpie) ▲Finding Wally.

In particular, Dooly, who is colored like a green garden, will show dynamic movements by waving his hands to his OST, as befits a K-legend animation. Spinyfish, the mascot that appears in ‘Baby Dinosaur Dooly Ice Star Adventure’, is also expected to make a surprise appearance and capture the attention of the audience.

In addition, against the background of Suncheon’s sky, the ever-changing characters are presented one after another over 13 minutes.

Suncheon Mayor Noh Kwan-gyu said, “The content festivals we have been experiencing all along were about meeting characters who were trapped in a standardized place. “But this time is different,” he said. “All content, including webtoons, animations, and characters, were gathered in the garden. “We will be decorating a festival reminiscent of a fairyland, with content coming out of the garden and up into the sky, so we ask for your interest and participation.”

Meanwhile, the content festival, which is about to open, will be held in the Ocheon Green Square area from November 1 to 3, and will include ▲OST performance by Solji, Ye-eun Ahn, and Kyung-ho Kim ▲Character exhibition and sales zone ▲Invited lectures by speakers (writer Tae-ho Yoon, Eric Director Oh) ▲There are a variety of things to enjoy, including a hot air balloon experience.

Meanwhile, Suncheon City (Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu) announced that it will hold the ‘2024 Heritage Jazz Festa’ in front of Mujingyo Bridge in Suncheon Bay Wetland at 2 p.m. on the 26th.

This event is a music festival that reexamines the value of Suncheon’s World Heritage site, the Suncheon Tidal Flat, through the emotion of jazz melodies, and is held as part of the Suncheon World Heritage Festival program.

The first stage opens with a lively performance by jazz singer-songwriter Kim Yu-jin, who won the Korean Popular Music Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album for two consecutive years, in collaboration with a quintet jazz band.

In addition, a colorful feast of jazz will be held, including the passionate performance of saxophonist Kim O-ki, winner of the Korean Popular Music Award for Best Jazz & Crossover Album and Musician of the Year, and Park Ki-hoon, who conveys comfort and joy by telling daily stories through jazz.

In particular, this performance was planned by the local youth cultural group ‘Youth Sonata’, which was selected through a citizen contest, and it is even more meaningful because Suncheon youth actively participated in the World Heritage Festival program.

Suncheon Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu said, “Heritage Jazz Festa is a music festival where you can experience the beauty of the World Heritage Suncheon Tidal Flat through the emotion of jazz melodies.” He added, “I hope you have a great time in the deepening fall of Suncheon Bay.”

Anyone can participate in the performance by purchasing a ticket to Suncheon Bay Wetland and bringing a mat. For more details, please refer to the Suncheon World Heritage Festival website.
