Additional exhibition of 60 pieces from the Hanchanggi Collection

The Suncheon City Deep-Rooted Tree Museum will reorganize part of its permanent exhibition space and reopen on the 31st.

The Suncheon City Deep-Rooted Tree Museum is a museum that stores, exhibits, and researches approximately 6,500 artifacts collected throughout his life by Mr. Han Chang-gi, who founded the magazine Deep-Rooted Tree. Various artifacts that transcend time and space are on display, including earthenware and roof tiles from the Three Kingdoms period, arts and crafts from the Goryeo period, classical Korean novels from the Joseon period, and modern and contemporary folk items.

This exhibition reorganization was planned to increase the utilization of the museum’s collection that has been sleeping in storage, and the Three Kingdoms period earthenware exhibition space at the entrance of the permanent exhibition hall was reconstructed into a space where you can see the changes in traditional Korean pottery from the Three Kingdoms period earthenware, Goryeo period celadon, late Goryeo period to early Joseon period buncheong ware, and Joseon period white porcelain. In addition, old maps depicting Korea during the Joseon period and Joseon period folk paintings featuring peonies, which have long symbolized wealth and nobility, will also be exhibited.

In addition, to commemorate the museum’s reopening, a new ‘Make Your Own Bookmark’ experience program using the collection will be introduced, and the museum workbook experience that has been ongoing since the first half of this year will continue to be operated, providing opportunities for anyone to easily learn about the museum.
