Suncheon City is recruiting 265 new candidates for the ‘Youth Hope Stepping Stone Bankbook Project’. Suncheon City (Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu) announced that it will be recruiting new candidates for the 2024 ‘Youth Hope Stepping Stone Bankbook Project’ for two weeks from April 22nd to May 3rd.

The Youth Hope Stepping Stone Account Project is a project in which if a young person saves 100,000 won per month, the city will match the same amount for 36 months and pay a total of 7.2 million won plus interest. At maturity, young people can receive double the amount of their savings plus interest and use it for job seeking, starting a business, or marriage funds.

Those eligible to apply are young people aged 18 to 45 living in Suncheon City as of the announcement date and whose recognized household income is less than 120% of the standard median income (approximately 2.67 million won per person per month). In addition, you must be an employee with more than 3 months (90 days) of work experience in the last 6 months as of the date of announcement, or a business owner who opened 6 months ago and has been operating the business for more than 3 months.

However, beneficiaries of national and local government asset formation support projects (Hope Savings Account, Tomorrow Replenishment Account, deduction, etc.), public officials (civil servants), executives and employees of public institutions, military service members (professional soldiers, alternative service personnel), etc. are excluded.

The number of applicants this year is 265, and if there are many applicants, applicants who meet all qualifications will be selected in order of the ratio of recognized household income to median income.

Young people who wish to apply can apply in person at the administrative welfare center in the town/myeon/dong that has jurisdiction over their address or by registered mail. The results of the selection of recipients will be posted on the Suncheon City website in July after reviewing qualifications, and the selected young people will receive support for 36 months starting in July of this year.

Other detailed information and application forms can be found in the notice on the city website, and inquiries can be directed to the Youth Policy and Youth Support Team.
