The 6th matchday of the playoffs of the Super League championship includes the derby between Olympiacos and PAOK which will be held on Sunday (20:30, Cosmote Sport 1) at “Georgios Karaiskakis”.

In fact, the two teams come from the return matches for the quarter-finals of the UEFA Europa Conference League and with different emotions.

PAOK said goodbye to Europe after losing 2-0 to Club Brugge in Toumba, even though they had won 1-0 in Belgium.

Now, Razvan Lucescu’s team is turning its attention solely to the championship, in order not to be left with… empty hands at the end of the season.

Olympiacos, on the other hand, got a boyish qualification in Polis, beating Fenerbahce in the penalty shootout, with Konstantinos Tzolakis as the “hero”.

Before the double matches with Aston Villa for the semi-finals (May 2 and 9 at “Vila Park” and “Georgios Karaiskakis”, respectively), the “red and whites” are invited to… think about the Super League as well, if they wish to stay “alive” in the hunt for the title.

Earlier (17:00, Cosmote Sport 1), at “Athanassios Diakos”, Panathinaikos will face Lamia, wanting to achieve its second consecutive victory against the team of Leonidas Vokolos.

The “clover” prevailed 3-1 in Leoforos last week, while in the capital of Fthiotida it had prevailed 2-1 in the regular season of the championship with a goal in the final.

The “greens” with a victory will pass, even temporarily, at the top, waiting for the result of AEK in Thessaloniki. Lamia, for its part, will seek to get its first positive result in the mini league.

Like Panathinaikos, AEK also defeated Aris at home (2-0 in New Philadelphia), with the two teams meeting again at 19:30 (Novasports Prime), this time at Cleanthis Vikelidis.

For Matias Almeida’s team there is no other result than victory, however this year in Harilaou they did not win in their two previous visits – 1-1 for the Cup and elimination on penalties and 3-3 in the last matchday of the regular season of the Super League.

Aris completed three consecutive victories and is looking for motivation to be at his best on May 18, when he will face Panathinaikos in the final of the Greek Cup.
