Property damage estimated at 20 to 34 trillion won
As super-hurricane ‘Herlin’ struck the southeastern United States, damage continued, including at least 44 deaths and 4.2 million households losing power.
On the 27th (local time), the Associated Press, citing rescue authorities, reported that at least 44 people were confirmed dead in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia due to Hurricane Hurlin.

Due to record-warm ocean temperatures, Atlantic hurricanes are expected to be more frequent than normal this year.
Meanwhile, according to the NHC, tropical storms ‘Isaac’ and ‘Joyce’ were formed in the Atlantic Ocean.
Forecasters said Isaac is expected to weaken to a tropical depression on the 30th as it heads northeast, where water temperatures are relatively cold.
