Supermarkets across France have recalled‍ several batches of ‌cheeses ‍due to⁢ potential ⁣Listeria contamination. The contamination was discovered in products sold between early⁤ July and early​ August.

Sources⁣ report that major‌ chains like Super U, Casino, Carrefour,‍ and Intermarché are affected by the recall.​ Some⁤ recalls are‍ localized, such as the “Moelleux de St ours 500 g” produced by Schmidhauser, which is only being recalled in Carrefour markets in ⁤Savoie and Haute-Savoie.

  • Savoyarde fondue with white wine

  • Grated Savoyarde fondue from Schmidhauser

Cause of Recall:

All recalled cheeses ⁤were found to​ be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, ⁣a bacterium ⁢that can cause listeriosis, a potentially fatal foodborne illness.
