SuperSalud advances forced intervention at the Hospital of Florence

The National Health Superintendency decided to forcefully and administratively intervene in the María Inmaculada Departmental Hospital ESE, located in Florencia, Caquetá.

The intervention, which began on August 14, 2024 and will run until August 14, 2025, responds to a serious administrative and financial crisis that threatens the stability of the entity and puts at risk the timely and adequate attention to users.

The National Superintendent of Health, Luis Carlos Leal Angarita, revealed that They identified 52 critical findings related to the provision of health services, highlighting serious problems in the emergency area and an inventory of medications in alarming conditions. “The inventory included multiple expired medications, which represents an imminent risk to the health, life and integrity of people inside the hospital,” warned Leal Angarita.

The intervention not only seeks to correct these irregularities, but also to protect the life and fundamental right to health of the inhabitants of Florencia and of all those who depend on the María Inmaculada Departmental Hospital, said SuperSalud.
