by time news
The twin towers of Supertech in Noida have been demolished. The buildings were demolished by controlled blasts around 2.30 pm as planned. Apex and Sayanin flats in Sector 93A were demolished.

The blast was carried out using 3700 kg of explosive material.

The 40-storey twin towers (Apex and Ceyane) are located in Sector 93A, Noida, near the Greater Noida Expressway. Both these towers had more than 900 flats. These are part of Supertech’s Emerald Court project in Noida. The two towers together have an area of about 7.5 lakh sq.ft.

Residents’ Welfare Association of Emerald Court Group Housing Society filed a petition against the construction, stating that the building was constructed in violation of the UP Apartment Act, 2010. News 18 had reported that the towers were constructed without following the distance as per building regulations.

Quoting court reports, News18 had reported that these were illegally constructed without obtaining the consent of the individual flat owners under the UP Apartment Act. Following this, the Supreme Court ordered the demolition of the towers last year.

Mumbai-based Edify Engineering and their South African partner Jet Demolitions led the demolition of Supertech Flats.
