jpnn.comJAKARTA – The agricultural insurance program of the candidate for governor and deputy governor of Central Sulawesi, Ahmad Ali Abdul Karim Aljufri (AKA), has again received full support from the government.

Previously, Deputy Chairman of Commission IV of the DPR, Daniel Johan, asked that regional head candidates follow the program.

This time, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture (Wamentan) Sudaryono gave positive appreciation and encouraged the socialization and campaign of agricultural land insurance to farmers to be increased.

Socialization is a challenge for the government to continue to encourage farmers’ awareness to insure their land.

“It is a challenge to socialize how to approach farmers, how to immediately set aside after harvest. Penetrations into the field are important for the government,” said Sudaryono in Jakarta, Wednesday (11/9).

Sudaryono explained that currently the Ministry of Agriculture continues to encourage farmers to insure their agricultural land. The nature of the program is assistance. The figure, said Sudaryono, is still below 10 percent who receive insurance.

Sudaryono reiterated the importance of socialization so that farmers are encouraged to register and pay insurance premiums, because when compared to the risk of crop failure, the nominal amount paid for insurance may not be too large.

“The program already exists, but not many. Because if we look at it, we really have to implement it as part of a way to protect farmers,” explained Sudaryono.
